The Newton School District is located in Newton, New Jersey, and includes the Merriam Avenue Elementary School (preschool – fourth grade), Halsted Middle School (grades 5 – 8) and Newton High School (grades 9 – 12).
Project Launch Newton is offered to children in fourth grade at the Merriam Avenue Elementary School, Monday – Friday, from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m., and to students in grades five - eight at the Halsted Middle School, Monday – Friday, from 2:40 – 5:40 p.m. Activities are also offered for four weeks during the summer, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The Project Launch Newton program follows the Newton School District calendar; program closing dates correspond to operation dates for the district, including holidays and weather-related closings.
The mission of the Newton Public Schools is to educate the "whole child," and it is the expectation that all students shall achieve the Common Core State Standards and the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels.
